Multi Color / Skittles Mani... Wet n Wild Megalast Club Havana, Tropicalia, Candy-licious / Rose Bonbon

I have a multi color / Skittles mani for you today. I wanted to do a quick base coat that would dry quickly so I could get some work done around the house. A quick base coat that would dry I knew would be one of my Wet n Wild Megalast polishes, but I could not decide on a color. So I did all three that I had pulled from my stash.

L to R: Candy-licious / Rose Bonbon, Tropicalia, Club Havana, Candy-licious / Rose Bonbon

After getting done the house work over the next day and a half I got a bit of tip wear...sorry about that. I was going to do a floral stamping, but I scraped that idea after seeing all the tip wear. :(

L to R: Candy-licious / Rose Bonbon, Tropicalia, Club Havana, Candy-licious / Rose Bonbon

For this manicure I applied the following:

  • OPI Nail Envy Base Coat
  • Wet n Wild Megalast Candy-licious / Rose Bonbon (pinky & index fingers)...2 coats
  • Wet n Wild Megalast Club Havana (middle finger)... 2 coats
  • Wet n Wild Megalast Tropicalia (ring finger)... 2 coats
  • Seche Vite Top Coat...1 coat

L to R: Candy-licious / Rose Bonbon, Club Havana, Tropicalia, Candy-licious / Rose Bonbon

I think these colors work really well together. But I think my favorite is the orange...Club Havana. What do you think? Do you have a favorite?
Hope your week is going well!

ALL-HAIL The Lemon Butter... Burt's Bees Style!... A Cuticle Cream Treatment

I recently was struggling to get my nails and especially my cuticles back in shape. They looked like a total disaster! I eventually was drenching my nails and cuticles with OPI Avoplex Nail and Cuticle Replenishing Oil and I was getting nowhere. I couldn't understand why I couldn't get my nails back into shape again. I was frustrated and thinking I must not be using enough product. Eventually I was slathering so much of it on I was an oily mess and couldn't touch anything important or porous for a good 30 minutes after putting it on.

I knew I got my nails and cuticles in shape when I first started my blog, so I stopped to think...OK something is different...I have to be doing something different. And sure enough, thinking back to when my blog started I was able to get my nails and cuticles in good shape and I was using Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream. So I made the change. I stopped using the oil and started up on the Burt's Bees Cuticle Cream.

I had amazing success and could see great results in a few days of using this treatment. The first day I started back to using this product I applied it to my cuticle 3 times that day. Now with my job my hands go through the wringer because they are constantly either getting wet or getting hit with a hair dryer. So on the days I work I apply it an additional two to three times while at work. I find that the cream acts as a good protective shield against the dehydration from the heat dryers. I am continuing to use it 1-2 times a day for maintenance.

Bottom line... if you are struggling with getting your cuticles in shape give Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream a shot. It worked amazingly well for me with quick results.

P.S. and BTW, This product was purchased by me and I have not received anything from this company to review this product. I am just that impressed with it that I wanted to share my results with my you all. :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Today is Earth Day! Earth Day Mani... Sponging

Today is Earth Day! I certainly wanted to do a mani in honor of Earth Day. I have been wanting to do a sponging technique lately so to incorporate the two I came up with this mani.

I first applied the white base color and waited for that to dry completely. I then sponged the earth's layers starting with the blues. I applied the darkest blue first, then the medium blue followed by the light blue. Finally I sponged on the greens, again the dark one first and then the light green last. Topped it with two coats of Seche Vite and there you have it...

...the Earth in the palm of my hands! Lol. :D

For this manicure I applied the following:
  • OPI Nail Envy...as a base coat
  • Sinful Color Snow Me White (base color)...2 coats
  •  Revlon Midnight Affair (dark blue)
  •  China Glaze Ride The Waves (medium blue)
  • Orly Skinny Dip (light blue)
  • Sinful Colors Exotic Green (medium green)
  • Sally Hansen Green With Envy (light green)
  •  Seche Vite Top Coat... 2 coats

Remember to...
Recycle, Reduce, Reuse!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Spring Is In The Air!...OPI My Vampire Is Buff... Konad Special Polish

Happy Friday Ladies! I had a very productive day off today. Part if that productivity was to do a  Spring theme manicure, post it, and I was able to sign up on Twitter and start figuring out how that all works. And over the last couple days I was able to set up a Pinterest account and get some boards and repins up on them. I still have to Pin up all my blog manis...yikes...sounds tedious!

So for my Spring themed mani I choose to do a full plate stamping in a pretty floral pattern from one of my Bundle Monster plates. Then when I couldn't decide which of my pastel Konad polishes to stamp over my neutral base I stopping arguing with myself and picked them all. :)

Although I am wishing I didn't pick the green because it does not show up very well at all! Yup you guessed it...the green is on my pinkie finger although it looks like I didn't stamp my pinkie at all! It's there! You can see it better in the close up shot below.

I am really loving how the pink stamping (middle finger) and the white stamping (thumb) turned out. I think those are my favorites....the blue (ring finger) is pretty too. I guess I like them all except that green. It just is not working with this base polish.

For this manicure I applied the following:
  • Milani Smoothe Base Coat
  • OPI My Vampire is Buff...2 coats
  • Out the Door Top Coat...1 coat
  •  For All Stamping Konad Special Polish was used... thumb in white, index finger in light purple, middle finger in light pink, ring finger in light blue, pinkie in light green
  • Nail Plate BM306
  • Seche Vite Top Coat...1 coat

Wahooo...I am now on Twitter, Pinterest and Bloglovin!

My Answers
1. For how long have you been blogging?
My blog has been in existence for about a year.

2. Why did you decide to start blogging?
I created my blog to document the manicures I was doing in order to be able to refer back to them if I wanted to. I also wanted to share what I was creating with others that have the same passion for nails.

3. Do you have a job outside of blogging?
Yes, I do have a full-time job.

4. What's one thing you cannot live without?
Realistically food, water and shelter would top the list of answers to this question. If those answers does not have to count the next thing would be my pets.

5. Favorite Ice Cream?
Mint Chocolate Chip

6. Where do you usually shop?
I generally shop at Bealls and Belk because they are the closest to me. The best "real" mall is an hour from me.

7. Are you on Instagram? If so, do you follow bloggers?
I am not on Instagram...yet.

8. What one thing do you think every woman should have in her closet?
A great pair of jeans.

9. What kind of make up do you like to try different brands of?
 Eyeliner.

10. What's your guilty pleasure?
This is an easy one...I am totally addicted to McDonald's Mocha Frappes! Oh my, my they are sooooo good! It sucks because there is a McDonald's on every corner even where I live! My car automatically head right for their drive thru!

11. What's a typical day like for you?
My typical day goes like this...cats wake me up acting like they are starving to death, make coffee, check emails and a quick look at some blogs while I wait for coffee to brew, let dogs out to potty, eat breakfast, feed my chickens, ducks, peacock and goats, shower and I am off to work. Then after work I make any grocery stops or nail polish purchasing stops and I am home to take care of all my farm animals and house pets all over again and of course make some kind of dinner for myself too. :)

Thanks again for the award Aisha!

Have a great rest of your week.

Wet n Wild Megalast Private Viewing... POLISH AND PACKAGING Swatch / Review

I am loving this nude. This is up there on my favorite nudes list...at least for my skin tone. I will be reaching for this one again when I am needing a good nude!

Today I have Wet n Wild Megalast Private Viewing. This is one of my favorite lines of polish and I will be posting more colors in this line upcoming postings.

THE POLISH
This color is a nude/brown, shimmer polish...in person it is a creme. You can see the very slight shimmer in the photos, but in person I can not see any trace of a shimmer...and I don't wear glasses! I was able to get full coverage with 2 coats. The formula was very easy to work with, not too thick or too thin. Wet N Wild Megalast polishes are 3 free... Toluene, phthalate, and formaldehyde free. It is calcium and mineral fortified to rebalance and prevent nail discoloration. Dry time was very good. It has a faster than average dry time

THE PACKAGING
The square bottle is unique and makes a nice presentation. The handle is of good length and makes application easy. The brush is a full brush, which allows polish application in one or two strokes. I personally love the full brush and it works extremely well with my nails, but it may not be ideal if you have narrow nail beds.

THE MANICURE
For this manicure I applied the following:
  • Nailtiques 2 Plus...as a base coat
  • Wet N Wild Megalast Private Viewing...3 coats
  •  Nailtiques 2 Plus...as a top coat, 1 coat

Orange Animal Guardian Ribbon... Prevention of Cruelty To Animals Month...Bull Terrier, Chihuahau, Cats, Lhamas

April is Prevention of Cruelty To Animals Month. This is the month the ASPCA goes all out with their fight against animal cruelty. To show your support against animal cruelty they encourage you to "Go Orange for Animals" for the month.

I was so happy to see Laurie's post at Dressed Up Digits today I new I had to do a mani to show my support against animal cruelty. I have been loving her blog for a while now because it is filled with awesomeness.  She is totally awesome too for posting the Orange Animal Guardian Ribbon post and showing her support. If you have not checked out her blog...check it out she does phenomenal nail art!... Dressed Up Digits.

So without further ado, I give you my "Go Orange" mani...

  • Index Finger is a Chihuahua vinyl nail decal with a paw print and bones stamped background.
  • Middle Finger is a Kitty vinyl nail decal with a orange ribbon stamped background.
  • Ring Finger is a Bull Terrier vinyl nail decal with a paw print and bones stamped background.
  • Pinky Finger is a Kitty vinyl nail decal with a heart stamped background.

Well, it is not exactly what I intended. I was going for a subtle stamping, but this stamping is too subtle. I had to put a third coat of WNW Sunny Side Up base color on, so the color ended up darker than I expected. I didn't realize it at the time. I had to take very close pictures for the stamping to show up, but you can barely see it in person! :(

  • Thumb is a pair of vinyl Llama nail decals with a heart stamped background.

For this manicure I applied the following:
  • Milani Smoothe Base Coat
  • Wet n Wild, Wild Shine Sunny Side Up...3 coats
  • Out the Door Top Coat...1 coat
  • Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Sun Kissed (For Stamping Color)
  • Nail Plates BM306, BM317 & BM321
  • Sache Vite Top Coat...2 coats

Thanks for reading and don't forget to Go Orange! :)

Today I have a nude manicure for you using Wet n Wild Megalast 2% Milk. This is one of my favorite lines of polish and I will be posting more colors in this line upcoming postings.

THE POLISH
This color is a creme based, milky nude, sheer polish. The color name of this one implies it is white, but it is more like an off-white. It does have a hint of color to it. This is a three coater. I was able to get full coverage with 3 coats.

Skinny Dipping For A Cause... In Orly and Revlon Stamping

Everything blue today in support of World Autism Awareness Day. Here is one of my farm animals that fits in with this theme. This is my lovely Peacock sporting the proper colors for the cause too! :)

I did a manicure in support of World Autism Awareness Day and Autism Speaks... Light It Up Blue. I used Orly Skinny Dip (hence the blog title...i could not resist) and Revlon Top Speed Royal for stamping. I am very happy with the color combo of this mani matching back nicely to the colors used on supporting Autism Awareness.

This manicure is nice and bright thanks to Orly Shinny Dip. Then the Shinny Dip toned down the Revlon Royal perfectly to achieve the darker blue color I was looking for. When wearing the Revlon Royal alone it is much darker...more similar to my Something Fishy In The Deep Blue Sea mani.

For this manicure I applied the following:
    • Nailtiques 2 Plus
    • Orly Skinny Dip...2 coats
    • Nail Plate BM-319
    • Revlon Top Speed Royal (stamping)
    •  Nailtiques 2 Plus...2 coats

Are you doing an Autism Awareness mani?
What colors and design did you do?

    Thanks for reading!
