Wet n Wild Megalast... On A Trip - TOPS MY FAV LIST

This has got to be my favorite polish I have used to date. Granted, there are several brands have have not tried out yet, but this is hands down my favorite so far! Unfortunately, I only have one color in this brand, but I can tell you that is going to change. I do not have any errands to run today, but after I was done with this manicure I wanted to jump in the car to go get some more colors in this brand... I actually did not though (where this self control is coming from I have no idea). But that is how much I love this polish.

When I was in college I just painted my nails and did not think too much about the little details. Until recently,  I never used to consider things like brush size, formulation, opacity, number of coats, etc., but with all things considered.... this is my favorite!

When I first open the bottle and looked at the brush, I was like, WTF is that? It is odd looking, but this is the best brush I have used so far. They are calling it a "ManiCurve Pro Brush". It is nice and wide with a slight curve at the corners and holds a good amount of polish. My pinky nail was done in one swipe and the rest of my nails done in 2 swipes. If you do not like wide brushes or have very narrow nail beds, this is may not the polish for you.

Another bonus is it only took 2 coats for full coverage...love that! You may have been able to get away with one coat. And it is a deep rich color...love that too! The color you see in the bottle is the color you get with the first coat...FABULOUSNESS!

If you do not have any of these, pick one (or some) up when you are out...it's only $1.99 each. You won't regret it. I can't want to get ALL the rest of the colors they have! Hopefully I will make it through the rest of the day without jumping in my car to go get them today!  ;)
.

For this manicure I applied the following:
  • Milani Smoothe Base Coat
  • Wet n Wild Megalast in On A Trip...2 coats
  • Out the Door...1 coat

The entire line of colors are amazing!

Nicole By OPI... The Next CEO - First Nail Stamping!

Since I got off work very early today I was so excited because I could use the extra time to give stamping a try. Well, because I can't get enough nail blog reading in, I did spend too much of my extra time reading nail blogs when that I was supposed to be nail stamping! Once I finally pealed myself away from the computer and off the internet I attempted my very first nail stamping.

I had a hard time lining the image up with where I wanted it on the nail and that was probably the hardest part. As a whole, it was a relatively easy process. With a bit more practice I hope I will work out the alignment issue. I actually had an easier time aligning my off hand because instinctual for this hand I held the stamper facing up an then rolled my finger over it. Wish I would have done that with my dominate hand. I will try that next time.

Ok, clean-up and bold spots need to be worked on too! Yikes! It's not too bad for my first go at it. I don't hate it. What do ya think? Any tip, tricks, shortcuts, etc. are certainly welcomed and appreciated. Thanks :)

What I used in this manicure:
  • Milani Smoothe Base Coat
  • Nicole by OPI in The Next CEO...3 coats
  • Konad in Black...nail stamping
  • Nail Plate: Konad m60
  • Seche Vite...1 coat

Sinful Colors... Cloud 9....Weird Name For This Color?!?

I wanted to do an orange today. So I selected one that was a bit different than ones that I gravitate toward. I tend to lean toward and purchase more of the coral oranges. This is Sinful Colors in Cloud 9 and is more a golden-orange. It is a bright orange with lighter orange/gold shimmer. This is a nice bright, glow-y orange...not bad?

Is it me, or is this a weird name for this color? When I see *any* shade of orange, the last thing I think of is "Cloud 9".  :-/

For this manicure I applied the following:
  • Milani Smoothe Base Coat
  • Sinful Colors in Cloud 9...3 coats
  • Out the Door...1 coat

Sally Hansen... Lemonade... On A Cold, Windy Day!?

Well, It is cold and windy here in Florida today. A perfect day to stay indoors and get some stuff done around the house or to just get some extra rest with a hot cup of coffee or tea. I did both and my cat, Harry clearly got some good rest in. I was doing my nails and when I got up from my polish table I placed my eyes on the picture below. Boy is he getting in some good sleep. I was snapping away some pictures and he did not budge. Is he too cute or what?

Harry getting some rest... painting nails is exhausting!

Anyway, I was really wanting to use this color since I bought it on Friday. I just got some time to do it today. It is called Hard Lemonade by Sally Hansen. It is a nice creme color, but it did take 4 coats. I might have been able to get away with just 3 though. It is a little darker of a yellow than Revlon Sparkle and Shine.

I can not stand how much space I left between the polish and the cuticle...grrrr! It is making me crazy looking at this in these pictures!

For this manicure I applied the following:
  • Milani Smoothe Base Coat
  • Sally Hansen Hard As Nails in Hard Lemonade...4 coats
  • Out the Door...1 coat

This Is A Great One... Orly... FOWL PLAY

I can not get over this polish. I knew the first time I saw a swatch of this I had to have it. Well, it just arrived a couple days ago alone with a few other colors and I could not take my eyes off this one to even appreciate the other colors. This is by far one of my favorite polishes to date. This was a great purchase and will certainly be one of my go to polishes when I need a mani that stands out.

Glitters, shimmers and flakies all in a pretty purple polish. I love this one... let me know what you think.

This is what I did for this manicure:
  • Milani Smoothe Base Coat
  • Orly in Fowl Play... 2 Coats....... **Next Time I Will Use 3 Coats**
  • Out the Door... 1 coat

How gorgeous is this? OMG... I sooooo do not regret this purchase. Actually, I might buy another one (or two) to make sure I do not ever run out!   :-P

A Bit of Glitz... Sally Hansen Gem Crush...Big Money!

I just could not stand to look at the neutral...the TOTALLY neutral... manicure on my hands for one more second than was absolutely necessary! Though I did not have time to remove it and do a whole new manicure, I still had to change this immediately! So I thought I could at least add a layer. I came across this beautiful gold glitter polish in my stash. I though it would add that little something to make it tolerable until I have time to do a whole new manicure.

What I have on:
  • Milani Smoothe Base Coat
  • Zoya in Glimmer... 3 Coats
  • Out the Door... 1 coat
  • Sally Hansen Big Money... 1 coat*
  • Out the Door... 1 coat
*picture below is a more accurate depiction of the color of his polish.

Zoya - Glimmer... TOTALLY A Neutral!

Well, I wanted to go with something that was neutral or a nude, so I selected this one...Zoya Glimmer. And I can not have picked something that was more of a nude on me because I could barely tell I had any polish on and this is 3 coats.  If it was not for the amazing shimmer in this polish I would not have even been able to see this color with my skin tone! This is not my favorite, but it is what I was going for in this manicure.  I think I just prefer all the amazing colors, glitters, textures and art work in the manicures that I have seen from some of the seriously talented blogger out there.

So here is what I did:
  • Milani Smoothe Base Coat
  • Zoya in Glimmer... 3 Coats
  • Out the Door... 1 coat
So as I said, this is not my favorite I just think I need color...

Sally Hansen Smooth and Perfect... Sea... Pastel Green - Great Color For Easter

I wanted to do a manicure appropriate for Easter, so I pulled out a few pastel colors to choose from. I settled on a nice pale green, creme by Sally Hansen Smooth and Perfect. I think it is a perfect shade of green for Easter.

 This is what I did:
  • Milani Smoothe Base Coat
  • Sally Hansen Smooth and Perfect in Sea... 4 Coats*
  • Out the Door... 1 coat
*This did take FOUR coats! It was almost OK after 3 coats, but it really needed that fourth coat to look right. I just would not have been happy looking at it on me with the three coats.
