Shooting Stars and Androgynie...Orly

I have been wanting to do a black polish manicure for a while now. So when I was at Sally's picking up a couple of the China Glaze Safari Collection polishes that I had to have, of course I had to just see what else they had. Well, as soon as I saw this polish I got all wide eyed...it was mine...it being Orly Androgynie. This polish is a black jelly base with a slight gold shimmer and added to that are some larger blue, green, gold and copper/orangey glitters. It is very pretty.

Though this polish looks amazing on, getting it on was a bit of a pain! The glitter sank to bottom so fast it was crazy, but the up side of that is that when I inverted the bottle it mixed back up quickly too. It was a lot of stopping to mix the polish thought. I also found myself digging for glitter too. It was a bit of work to get the large pieces of glitter in the brush. I think the results are worth it though, but this certainly is not a polish to use if you are in a rush to get it on quickly!

To that I just added a simple shooting star stamping just for a little something extra. This polish certainly does not need it as it a great one that makes a statement on its own. I just wanted to try adding a little something more.

For this manicure I applied the following:
  • Sache Clear Base Coat
  • Orly in Androgynie...3 coats
  • Out the Door...1 coat
  • Revlon in Golden for Stamping
  • Stamping Plate m33
  • Out the Door...1 coat

    1. It really is. I love this on, but I probably will not reach for it too often because how difficult it is to get a good result from it!

  2. It's annoying when the formula is like this - but the result is lovely!

  7. Those little stars are just the right touch to me. I've seen this polish a few times and picked it up and put it back down cause I was either hunting for something specific or I just wasn't sure about it. Now it is on my list!

  8. I love this color by Orly! I got it a couple of weeks ago from Sally's and thought it was new since it had a new tag around the handle, but it's not new lol! Love it!

    1. I thought the same thing...when I was checking out the sale girl even said it was new. Upon my own research I found it was not even close to being new. Not that would have made any difference what so ever in me buying it! This was totally mine as soon as I laid my eyes on it. I Love It too! : )

  9. I have long had my eye on Androgynie because it looks so beautiful on nails, but have been put off my reports of how if is difficult to use. This polish looks gorgeous on you and I love the little stars. I will keep it on my "maybe" list and let the universe decide if it is meant to be mine :)

    1. Thanks...I do love it on too. I don't regret getting it, but if I knew what a pain in the butt it was to put on I would have allowed more time for this mani. It is very nice on!

  10. What a great combination, Kelly! Golden really compliments the glitters in Androgynie, making it look like deep space! Totally smitten. ;)

Just recently bought Androgynie and am looking foward to trying it out soon--thanks for the heads-up on application!
